I am a Lecturer at Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs, where I teach courses on policy implementation and education, an Advisor to Sapien Labs, a nonprofit focused on understanding the human mind, and engage in select consulting projects.

I also serve as a board member of The Equity Project Charter School and America’s Promise Alliance. I write Opportunity Knocks, a newsletter about childhood, opportunity, and the forces reshaping both.

Over two decades, I’ve worked across government, education, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations. Some highlights: I served as Chief of Staff to New York City Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott and later as Chief Operating Officer of the New York City Department of Education. I was appointed by President Barack Obama as a nonpartisan White House Fellow at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. I later founded Opportunity Labs, a national nonprofit research and policy organization focused on expanding meaningful opportunities for children, and led it through 2025.

My writing has appeared in Politico, The Hill, CNN, The 74, and other publications. I have an MPA from Columbia University and a BA from Rider University.
